More of my Favourite Things....

This week my favourite Spring blossom is Ranunculus. Ranunculus are arriving from California every Wednesday...they last about 7 days, growing and opening into a miniature Peony type blossom, and are available in white, yellows, pinks, oranges and reds. At $2.00 each they are fabulous mixed with Tulips as they grow at the same rate...Fantastic little Spring Blossoms!

The best part of Tulips is watching them grow from perfect little Easter Egg shaped buds into mature fully open heavy blossoms over a 4-7 day period....the colour deepens and the blossoms open wide so you can see the very obvious inner stamens, pistils, and pollen as they develop.

To keep them longer place them outside while you're at work during the day and or/ overnight while you sleep. You can almost double the life of your Tulips (and most cut flowers) by keeping them cool! (no lower temperature than 4 c.or 40 f.)
