I am so lucky to have access to locally grown Orchids like this beautiful chartreuse with crimson throat Cymbidium variety grown in Chilliwack, B.C. I also have year round access to magnificent imported South American Roses available in hundreds of colours and varieties. In the photo above are Cherry Brandy (orange), Latina (yellow) and CherryO (Watermelon) Roses.
All of our imported Roses come from farms who meet or exceed safe environmental & fair employment standards.
AND I get to mix them with Locally Grown Tulips in citrus tones like the bright orange variety "Orange Juice" and the magnificent double watermelon variety "Erne Lindgren" pictured above.
Locally Grown Hyacinth, Lily of the Valley, & double white "Monte Carlo" Tulips, with South American "Anastasia" Roses, & California grown white Hydrangea
Okay... anyone who knows me knows I LOVE LOVE the brighter citrus & fruity tones. But sometimes the softer romantic tones are just so sweet & lovely & clean...

Happy New Year to all our Persian friends & clients!Nowruz (New Day) is the start of the traditional ancient Iranian New Years festival & is the first day of the Iranian New Year. One tradition is to decorate the home with heavily fragrant Hyacinth, known as Sonbol to Persians. These beautiful flowers herald the start of Spring...

Buttercup, Buttercup...Masses of all one type of flower have a very strong visual impact...
Here we have masses of locally grown "Verona" butter yellow double Tulips arranged in oval clear glass vases for special event centrepieces.
If you look really hard (or put your glasses on)
you will see Lola in her position of 'store greeter' in her basket at the end of the counter...
I love the Celery Green details of the stems & foliage.
The stems are so beautiful with the natural grey pebbles...
Juicy & green & smooth & clean. Show them off!
(Oh God, don't get me started on the death of the leaf wrap)
Sometimes a Tulip is just a Tulip...
(Or.... thousands of Tulips)

Each stem is suspended from an individual line to produce the long, strong, and straight stems we all want... There are hundreds of thousands of these stems all connected to various suspension & watering systems throughout this greenhouse in Delta.
Hybrids & new colours take many years if not decades to produce on a commercial level & our local growers are constantly moving forward to develop various hybrids & colours that are in bloom throughout different seasons locally.
This miniature white variety named "Elfin" is a particular favourite of mine.

SHADES OF WHITE, BLACK, and GREY....A very cool mix of white Elfin Orchids & natural black river stones is ready to be delivered to a Point Grey home this afternoon.
